The Story Behind My Memories of You

My Memories of You has been an idea close to my heart for many years.

When our eldest was born, a friend shared something beautiful with me — she knew someone who kept a notebook of all the funny things her kids said as they grew up. I loved the idea, but life got busy, and I never got around to doing it myself.

Sadly, that friend has since passed away. But the memory books she left behind became a precious legacy for her children — something they can cherish forever. That moment stayed with me. I realized I might not always carry a notebook, but I always have my phone. That’s when the idea for the My Memories of You app truly took shape.

This app was created with one purpose in mind: to help parents leave a lasting legacy for their children — a collection of memories told in your own words, through your lens, capturing the moments both big and small.

It's not a social media platform. It’s a private journal — a space where you can record the funny, the joyful, the hard, and the deeply meaningful moments of your family’s life. It’s a place to celebrate resilience, remember challenges, and provide context for photos and stories your children may one day look back on.

What surprised and touched me the most is how much my own mum enjoys being part of this journey. She now contributes her own memories to our family story, adding another layer of richness and perspective. It reminded me that this isn’t just a gift to our children — it’s a gift to ourselves and to the generations who come after us.

My Memories of You is about preserving connection, capturing emotion, and celebrating the journey — in all its beautiful, messy, unforgettable forms.

My Memories of You Is More Than Just An App

At My Memories of You, we believe families are meant to thrive — not just survive. This belief comes from our own experience as a family. Balancing work and family life can be incredibly challenging, especially when the kids are young.

We get it, life can feel really busy and a bit much at times. Between work and school, there have definitely been moments where we’ve felt overwhelmed and found ourselves being a bit short with the kids—not because we meant to, but just from being worn out. We realized something needed to shift, so we made a few small changes that really helped. We’ll share some of the things we’ve learned or tried in our blogs, in the hope that it might encourage others too.

That’s why we’re here — to offer support, share resources, and create a space where you can feel part of a like-minded community. Whether it's tips for daily life or small reminders that you're not alone, we want to help lighten the load as we continue on this ever-changing journey of parenting.

One thing we’ve discovered on our journey is the power of memories. Looking back on the fun, the tough, and everything in between has a way of bringing families closer. It reminds us of the good times, helps us reconnect, and strengthens the bond we share.

Let’s grow together — one memory at a time.
